Every Dollar App is a simple budgeting app (also available on desktop!) that supports a zero-based budgeting method.

Wait, what is that? Basically, with this method, you plan ahead and "spend" your salary by dividing it among all your monthly bills and expenses. The main goal: is to leave $0.00 so there is no money left "out of budget" or without a designated category.

So what was I thinking?

I make the best decisions when I organize my thoughts about new processes into a list of pros and cons (something my dad taught me!). So without further ado, here is my opinion on the Every Dollar App after using it for a month.

Easy-to-use App

My budget spreadsheet requires me to manually go to Google Spreadsheets and enter all the transactions on my laptop. With Every Dollar App, adding transactions is incredibly easy.

All you have to do is:

Enter the quantity

• Select the date you spent this amount
• Enter your merchant name (store/restaurant name, etc.)
• Choose from a list of your budget categories
• Split transactions if necessary (eg from a Target shopping trip where you spent money in the clothing, pet food, and grocery categories).
• The whole process takes about 15 seconds!

You can also access Every Dollar App from your desktop, but if you use the free version, it's just as easy to do everything through the app. Additionally, the app syncs between multiple users in your household so everyone knows exactly what's being spent and how much is due.
