The CarPlay application installed on a smartphone or tablet running the Android operating system gives the user full access to all the options of the Apple CarPlay multimedia system. Thus, an Android device user can:
- Activate online Google Maps - navigator - as a virtual navigator.
- Siri is a cloud-based personal assistant and voice-driven Q&A system.
- Receive and make phone calls.
- Send and receive text messages; the latter is voiced by a synthetic voice.
