The prolific mobile masterpieces studio TellTale Games once again pleasantly surprised the gaming community at the stage of advertising "promotion" of its adventure project The Walking Dead: Season One. When creating a novelty, the developers took comics from the popular American writer Robert Kirkman as a basis, economically dividing them into five full-length parts, each of which used new protagonists, changed landscapes and locations, key events, and main tasks. In the game series, everything revolves around a certain Lee Everett, a professor at the University of Georgia, who was charged with the murder of his wife's lover, an influential senator. It was Everett who was in the car with the cops, who, by the will of fate, ended up in the zone where the disturbing story of the confrontation between the cadavers and the surviving people begins.
The project The Walking Dead: Season One, if you dig deeper, cannot be unambiguously attributed to a specific genre, we have a kind of "vinaigrette" - a horror adventure with RPG elements, intense QTE scenes, almost always deciding the further fate of any characters and amusing mini-games. According to the gameplay, users will have to personally write a story about the end of the world - gamers do not need to destroy crowds of walking dead with headshots, because the protagonists are obviously weaker than their counterparts. The primary goal is to survive, trying not to lose our human nature in the conditions of hell. Players can interact with any surrounding objects, flee from large groups of zombies, destroy single cadavers wandering around, interact with partners, in short, do everything not to join the ranks of carnivorous mutants.
The control system in the adventure project The Walking Dead: Season One is well thought out and simple - the joystick is responsible for the movement of the characters in space, and the communication between the group members and the manipulation of objects is carried out with swipes and taps on the screen. The main part of the playing time is the most fascinating dialogues (moreover, of a non-linear nature), which allow, depending on the answers, to "draw" your own scenario of the plot development. By the way, it is not at all necessary to be a good guy, you can also act as an unprincipled villain, profiting from the troubles of other people - to kill whoever you want, steal food and weapons, steal the transport of other survivors, and so on.
