Windy (also known as Windyty) is an unprecedentedly accurate mobile tool of the service of the same name, which visualizes natural phenomena that shape weather conditions through animation. How it works.
- The Windy application operates with information received from satellite and ground weather stations. The information is processed according to several weather forecasting models: global scale - ECMWF and GFS; and the local meaning is NEMS, AROME, ICON (for Europe), and NAM (for the US).
- The application uses 40 criteria, information about which is verified every hour, every day and every week. This allows the service to predict the weather with an accuracy of an hour to 15 days in advance, as well as at 16 levels above the ground - from 0 to 13.5 kilometers. Such an in-depth analysis of weather conditions makes it possible to predict the weather in more than 50,000 airports in the world, and in more than 1,500 paragliding locations.
